INFORMATION & frequently asked questions
aftercare
It is very important that you to take proper care of your new tattoo while it heals. Your tattoo artist is not responsible for any issues resulting from poor aftercare. Your tattoo will not heal properly if you do not follow these guidelines.
Keep it Covered
Your fresh tattoo may leak ink/plasma, be warm to the touch, or a little swollen. This is all normal.
-
After the tattoo is finished, a “second skin” bandage will be applied on top of the tattoo (I use a brand called (Recovery). This is a medical-grade bandage that is water-resistant and acts as a barrier that will protect the tattoo from dirt and other irritants.
-
Leave the second skin bandage on for 4-5 days. You can shower as normal with the bandage on.
Removing Bandage
-
Remove the second skin bandage while in the shower.
-
Peel slowly with the water running over it.
WASH & MOISTURIZE
-
Gently wash the tattoo with plain, unscented soap.
-
Pat the tattoo dry with a clean, disposable paper towel. Avoid using a common hand towel or bath towel, as this may introduce bacteria into the healing tattoo.
-
Once the tattoo is dry, apply a thin layer of plain, unscented lotion to keep the tattoo moisturized. There should only be enough to thinly coat the surface of the skin, you want the skin to be able to breathe and heal properly.
-
Repeat this cleansing & moisturizing routine 2x a day for the next 2-3 weeks.
bathing & swimming
-
You can shower with a new tattoo. It is ok to get the tattoo wet, but do not soak your new tattoo. Submerging the tattoo in water can cause damage or infection. Avoid baths, hot tubs, pools and the beach for at least 3-4 weeks.
SUN EXPOSURE
-
UV rays from the sun break down tattoo pigment, so sun exposure WILL cause premature fading.
-
Sunscreen is great for maintaining a tattoo that is already healed, but it will not protect a fresh tattoo adequately.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
-
Wait a minimum of two days and as much as 3 weeks before engaging in physical activity.
-
If you are going to work out (while not advised), take off the second skin early, you do not want to trap sweat and bacteria in with you new tattoo, and be sure to wash and lotion after.
what to AVOID:
-
Do not soak your new tattoo. Submerging the tattoo in water can cause damage or infection. Avoid baths, hot tubs, pools and the beach for at least 3-4 weeks.
-
Do not pick or scratch your new tattoo, itchiness is normal during the weeks your tattoo is healing.
-
Do not expose your new tattoo to direct sunlight.
-
Do not let anyone touch your fresh tattoo.
-
Do not use Neosporin or ointments other than recommended.
-
Do not use rubbing alcohol, peroxide or cortisone.
-
Do not use cloth towels as they can harbor bacteria.
-
Do not do excessive physical activity while the second skin is on. This could allow sweat and bacteria to get trapped in with your new tattoo.
Please remember that tattoos are open wounds and must be treated appropriately to ensure both your physical health/safety and the best quality for your tattoo.
If you experience excessive pain, swelling, redness, or fever, consult your physician ASAP.
APPOINTMENT
FAQS
"HOW DO I BOOK WITH YOU?"
Click here to fill out a consultation form.
"Can i see the stencil prior to the appointment?"
I don't share designs ahead of time, which is a common standard in the industry. There’s always time for adjustments before we start tattooing.
I've faced issues with sending drawings early and find it more effective to discuss the artwork in person.
This is why it's important to leave a detailed description in the booking consultation form.
"is there a deposit needed / how do i send a deposit?"
There is a $100 non-refundable deposit required due at the time of booking to secure the appointment.
The nonrefundable deposit will go towards the final cost of the tattoo at the final appointment, as long as no appointments are missed, cancelled, or rescheduled on short notice. See deposit policy for more info.
"Will I be able to reschedule my appointment if something comes up?"
If you reach out to me at least 72 hours before your appointment, I allow up to two rescheduling requests.
After the second reschedule an additional deposit may be required.
I appreciate your time and kindly ask that you reciprocate the respect.
For more details, please refer to my deposit policy.
“How much is a tattoo / What is YOUR rate?”
Rates may vary depending on size, detail, number of sessions, etc. Please submit an inquiry for more information.
“When can I expect a response?”
At times there can be a high volume of inquiries, it takes time to adequately review and respond to each inquiry, you will receive a response typically within 1-2 weeks.
If you're looking to get in last minute, I suggest sending me a DM on Instagram alongside your consultation form.
“CAN I BRING A GUEST?”
You're allowed only one guest to sit with you while you're getting tattooed, the space is limited and bringing any more than one guest is inconsiderate to the other artists at the shop.

If you book a project and then later decide that you no longer want your original request, and instead would like something very different than what the artist agreed to at the time of booking, this is considered a cancellation - you will forfeit your deposit unless the artist agrees to the new project.

If you ask to reschedule less than 72 hours prior to your appointment time, you will forfeit your deposit and a new deposit will be required to book another appointment.

If you ask to reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your appointment but fail to commit to another date at the time of the request, this is considered a cancellation and a new deposit will be required to book another appointment at a later date.

If I am contacted at least 72 hours prior to the appointment time, I will typically accommodate up to 2 reschedule requests; third and subsequent requests to reschedule the project will be considered solely at the discretion of the artist and may require a new deposit.
